Holding space for people to tell their whole story, to get to the root of an illness.

Corinna McFarlane
R. Ac, R. TCMP, Dipl. O.M., NCCAOM

My practice is a partnership, between practitioner and patient. We all need help at different times, and in different ways. My job is to assess and determine what that looks like.

I provide treatment based on the neuroscience of Acupuncture, and the wisdom grounded within the 3000 year old Tradition of Chinese Medicine. This combination makes it a powerful tool for change.

My Approach to Pain

Learning to work with pain, not ignore it

North America is currently in a pain management crisis with many people addicted to over prescribed pain medication. As Western medicine attempts to rectify the situation, Acupuncture is being increasingly used as a safe and effective solution.

Pain can be all encompassing and bring with it frustration, mood fluctuations and reduced motivation. All of which can compromise our quality of life. Prolonged, chronic pain affects every bodily system. It can disrupt digestion and appetite, cause insomnia, trigger depression and anxiety, work dissatisfaction, and can lead to tension in relationships.

Acupuncture is an effective management tool for both acute and chronic issues. It swiftly changes the bodies capacity to cope with stress, rewiring the nervous system within minutes.

Biography

Corinna is Collingwood born and bred. She was one of the first graduating students from Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TSTCM) to attain her board certification in the U.S. in 2001, in Oriental Medicine.

Early in her practice she gained invaluable experience working at both orthopedic and physiotherapy clinics in Toronto, where she had the opportunity to work with dancers from the National Ballet School.

Eventually her family roots called her back to Collingwood where she would establish and manage Blue Mountain Acupuncture Clinic, becoming an integral part of the healthcare community. Corinna enjoys strong, collegial relationships with local physicians and fellow health care providers.

Her continued commitment to learning and staying up to date in her field has involved pursuing cutting edge training courses in the U.S., and helping to set up acupuncture clinics in Nepal, while volunteering with Acupuncturists Without Borders.

Today she runs her practice from her newly renovated clinic space in beautiful downtown Collingwood. A space built to offer exemplary service, comfort and care.

With 20+ years of experience, she has a special interest in pain management, orthopedics, and soft tissue work. More recently she has also taken an interest in the role of acupuncture in palliative care.
